Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Hermes is a personal desktop application developed and used by an independent creator based in Brazil. It runs only on my own computer and is used only with YouTube channels that I own.
YouTube API Services
Hermes uses YouTube API Services. By using Hermes, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. The Google Privacy Policy applies to the data Google processes.
What Hermes accesses
When a channel is connected through Google sign-in (OAuth 2.0), Hermes can access:
- the email address of the Google account used to sign in;
- the channel's name, handle, profile image, banner and public statistics;
- the channel's analytics (views, watch time and subscribers per day) through the YouTube Analytics and YouTube Reporting APIs;
- the ability to upload videos, thumbnails and captions, and to set the channel banner and watermark.
How the information is used
- To upload the videos I approve to my own channel, with thumbnail, captions, title and description.
- To show me a performance dashboard for my own channels.
- To update my channel banner and watermark, only when I click the button to do so.
Hermes edits (title, description, thumbnail, visibility) or deletes one of my own videos only when I do it myself in Hermes, and deleting asks for confirmation. Hermes never accesses channels or data of other people.
Storage
All data stays on my own computer, in local files and a local database. Access tokens are stored locally and used only to call the Google and YouTube APIs. Channel statistics are kept for at most 36 months. Hermes does not use cookies or tracking, and does not collect information from viewers of my channels.
Sharing
Hermes does not sell, share or transfer any data to third parties. Data is sent only to Google and YouTube, through the APIs listed above.
Revoking access and deleting data
Access can be revoked at any time on the Google security settings page. In Hermes, disconnecting a channel deletes its stored access token and asks Google to cancel the access. To ask for any stored data to be deleted, write to the contact below.
